Ferris Wheelin’ & Dealin’: Holding On To DJ

Andy Ferris, @AndyFerrisFF

Welcome to the 2018 version of Ferris Wheelin’ & Dealin’. I’m going to give you the lowdown on who to target via trade, who to pick up, and who to keep an eye on in the future. I’ll cover redraft, dynasty, devy, and college football fantasy.

David Johnson | RB | Arizona Cardinals

You cannot sell an asset like DJ at this low-point; no matter how your season has unfolded to this point. The Cards haven’t deployed Johnson in the passing game and I believe that will change. Look no further than OC Mike McCoy’s time in San Diego. He deployed Danny Woodhead and Melvin Gordon extensively in the passing game. It is only a matter of time until McCoy remembers what how successful RBs are in the passing game.

Buck Allen | RB | Baltimore Ravens

Buck Allen has been the bane to the existence of Alex Collins owners everywhere but that should change soon. Allen only has 4 red zone carries, 3 of which have gone for TDs. The snap share has been right around 50/50 but the touches favor Collins 41-29. I’ll take the volume over the long term and sell Allen as a low-end RB2.

Sony Michel | RB | NE Patriots

With the IR trip for Rex Burkhead there is a Sony Michel fever. I’m not convinced, however, that James White isn’t the biggest winner there. Michel didn’t look great this weekend and is still only a fumble away from being benched for Ralph Webb. I think you could get a great haul for Michel right now and should do so immediately.

Leonard Fournette | RB | Jacksonville Jaguars

Fournette has never had a price as depressed as it is right now. Injuries have hampered his career thus far and most of his production has come in a few runs. That said, he’s got a great playoff slate and his match-up this week is a good one. Try and buy Fournette now before his price goes back up.

Ranks for Draft-Eligible QBs

Dwayne Haskins | Ohio State

Daniel Jones | Duke

Justin Herbert | Oregon Ducks

Tyree Jackson | Buffalo Bulls

Drew Lock | Mizzou Tigers

A lot has been made about this class being weak but the same was said about Pat Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. One thing that can be said about these 5 is they have incredibly strong arms. What sets Haskins and Jones apart for me is their accuracy and mechanics. The NY Giants are in great shape to grab one of these studs.

Kelly Bryant | QB | ???

If you play any dynasty version of CFF, Bryant is a great buy-low opportunity. Bryant announced his intent to transfer today and should be one of the hottest QBs on the market this offseason. He’s not much of a thrower but he will certainly only look at offenses that will suit his skillset. Bryant is an exceptional runner and will give your team a high floor with rushing upside.
